Clothes are built off patterns: patterns will vary between shirts, jackets, etcetera, even if they may appear to look the same. Here are some of the common terminology you might find around COINE gear, but bear in mind that these are loosely used to help you gauge the fit of clothing.
We predominantly use U.S. American sizing.
- Relaxed: intended to be roomy; great for layering or looser fits without sizing up.
- Classic: not too roomy, but not too closely fitted to the body. Timeless.
- Modern: fitted a little closer to the body for a trimmer, cleaner appeal.
- Heritage: the slimmest fit, with patterns cut close to the body.
Other terms that may be used in conjunction:
- Boxy: a pattern cut straight down with little to no taper
Tip: always check the size guide when buying apparel! Measure against something you currently own that fits well.
